Inspection Data Management System (IDMS)

Turn inspection and corrosion data into actionable integrity decisions.

The AccurAPM inspection data management system (IDMS) streamlines the collection, storage, review and analysis of inspection and corrosion data. It provides a structured environment for inspection planning, thickness measurement, corrosion analysis, anomaly management, recommendation tracking, deferrals and engineering calculations across the inspection lifecycle.

Capabilities

What the inspection data management system does

✓Inspection planning based on remaining life or time-based requirements.
✓Inspection reporting with CML assignment and markup.
✓Thickness measurement entry with corrosion-rate and remaining-life calculations.
✓MAWP and minimum-thickness calculations.
✓Anomaly management, recommendation tracking, deferral management and pitting evaluation.
✓Configurable approval cycles and baseline data-loading templates for bulk import.
✓Print-ready asset and bulk reports, including inspection and corrosion-analysis reports.
✓Integrated with AccurAPM Risk-Based Inspection.
✓Write back to CMMS work orders or notifications.
Outcomes

Business value

  • ✓Create a single, traceable record of inspection and corrosion history.
  • ✓Identify degradation trends earlier and support timely engineering action.
  • ✓Reduce manual effort in inspection planning, calculations, recommendations and reporting.
  • ✓Improve governance through configurable approvals, deferrals and recommendation tracking.
Questions

Inspection data management: common questions

What is an inspection data management system?

An inspection data management system is the system of record for inspection results — thickness readings, findings, anomalies, recommendations and their close-out — structured by equipment and condition monitoring location. Because the history is held in structure rather than in documents, AccurAPM calculates corrosion rates and remaining life from recorded measurements rather than estimating them.

Can existing inspection records be imported into AccurAPM?

Yes. AccurAPM provides baseline data loading templates for bulk import of inspection history and thickness data, and a data loader in the Core module for migration. AI-based extraction from PDF drawings and technical documents is also available to convert existing engineering documents into structured, linked records.

How does inspection data drive remaining life?

AccurAPM calculates corrosion rate from successive thickness measurements at each condition monitoring location, then derives remaining life against the calculated minimum thickness. MAWP and Tmin are calculated from ASME material data. Remaining life then feeds inspection planning, so the next inspection date follows from measured degradation rather than a fixed interval.

How does the IDMS connect to risk-based inspection?

The thickness history and corrosion rates recorded in the IDMS are the inputs RBI uses for damage-factor and remaining-life calculations. The two modules share one asset register, so an inspection result updates the risk ranking without re-entering data.

Does AccurAPM IDMS run on-premises?

Yes. AccurAPM deploys on the operator's own servers or on Azure; the IDMS and its inspection records stay inside the operator's network when deployed on-premises.
