Methodology

The seven questions, in sequence

Reliability-Centered Maintenance integrates corrective, preventive, predictive and proactive practices to keep an asset performing over its design life with the least intrusive maintenance. SAE JA-1011, the evaluation criteria for RCM processes, requires that seven questions are answered satisfactorily and in sequence. AccurAPM structures the analysis around them.

01Functions. What are the functions and the associated desired standards of performance of the asset in its present operating context?

03Failure modes. What causes each functional failure?
